Not dead yet...

Nope, we're still alive. Just been busy with other things.

Games we're excited about:
The big three:
Super Mario Galaxy
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (check out the Smash Bros Dojo for weekday updates)

Geometry Wars: Galaxies (cool retro style game)
Dance Dance Revolution: Hottest Party
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3

For all your Nintendo (including wii) related news, check out Zentendo. Great news site, although they have been having some server problems but it should be sorted out soon. They also include the smash bros site, so its the one stop for everything nintendo. The forums are also a great place. (My name's Jukey on them)

Tour video update
Well, i'm sorry to say that we haven't been working on the tour videos. If you look at the post entitled More to come you'll see that i said 3 months. 3 months just so happens to be 2 days ago. We are currently in the process of deciding what footage to get from what games. I'll post back if there's any progress made.

Truncated Look

Some of the more fanatical Wii owners may have noticed this

Nearly every edge on the console, as well as the controller, and the text on the game cases, has a rectangle with one truncated edge.

They also truncated the connectors for the wires and the power brick, too.
Its pretty interesting...

Virtual Console

If the innovative controller isn't enough to whet your appetite, there is plenty more about the Wii. One feature that I find particularly interesting is the Virtual Console or VC. The VC allows you to play classic Nintendo, Sega, and Hudson games from five systems: NES, SNES, N64, Turbo-Grafx-16, Sega Genesis. This service isn't free however, it will cost you:

-$5 for NES games
-$6 for TG-16 games
-$8 for SNES and Genesis games
-$10 for N64 games

The debate has lingered over whether or not this is a good price. In my opinion Nintendo picked a good price. $5 to play the classic games from yesteryear isn't half bad. $10 is a little expensive, however there are some very good games for the N64. I must say, although there are plenty of games for the service, (I already own 6) many of the high profile games haven't come out yet. Nonetheless it is always interesting to try a new game, one that you have never played before, and when it only costs $5 downloading can get addictive. This is one Wii feature that I hope to see develop into something great.

What the Wii's got

In this dog eat dog world of video games, the most important question of what console to buy. Like Jukey said your main choices are the PS3, Xbox 360, and the Wii. Nintendo has said that the Wii is not a next-gen console like the Xbox 360 and PS3, but instead a console that reaches a new consumer, the casual gamer. Make no mistake however, that the Wii is intended for everyone not just new-comers, but the hard core gamer as well. Why do we like the Wii, what makes the Wii really stand out. Its innovation, its style and its reinvention.

-Innovation refers to the Wii-mote as the controller is known. It provides a new way to play your favorite games as well as giving rise to a whole new genre of games.

-Style refers to Nintendo's new aproach to the concept of video games. They are trying something new.

-Reinvention is how enormously different the Wii is from anything ever before it. In the past there had been specialty controllers, such as a steering wheel for a racing game, or a gun for a shooter, but never has an entire system revolved around a new idea for the controller.
